Say YES to the Life You Want to Live (and a MAJOR announcement!)
It’s a new week, and you may be reading this from your bed after a restless night of sleep, not quite ready to get in the shower but mentally preparing to get “back on the wagon” today.
It IS Monday, after all.
Mondays are the day so many of us have begun again. After a weekend of donuts and lo mein and pizza and ice cream. After a weekend of Netflix binging or running after kids and skipping the gym.
After the weekend of, “this is the last time I’m doing this, and on Monday I’ll eat salads and chicken breasts and jog every weekday.”
We spend hours and hours dissecting our bodies: we pick, and poke, and prod, and bend over and squish, and restrict, and binge. We tie our looks to our sense of self worth, claiming that we were “good” over the weekend if we stuck to the diet plan and hit the gym, or “bad” if we had a slice of cake and couldn’t squeeze it in.
We end up trapped like a hamster on a wheel, hitting strict nutrition targets and logging every minute in the gym Monday through Friday, then “letting it all go” every weekend, despite our best efforts.
On Friday night, we think, “it’s just one slice of pizza; it’ll be fine,” which turns into, “forget it; I’m already off the plan, so let’s get wild!,” and by Monday becomes, “I’ve never stuck to a plan before; no wonder I’m the biggest I’ve ever been. How could anyone find me attractive? None of my clothes fit today, and everyone at work is finally going to catch on to how much of a slob I am.”
Sound familiar?
If it does, I want you to know you’re not alone.
I also want you to know that you are SO much more than your body.
In fact, I actually think your body is the least interesting thing about you.
🔮The dances you do when you think no one is looking.
🔮The way your thoughts weave through your process when you're working through a complex issue.
🔮Who you love and how you show up for them.
🔮What you need and how you prefer to be supported.
🔮That joke you tell that you can't even finish, because you're laughing too hard.
🔮All the facts and theories you gleaned from a late-night voracious rabbit hole of curiosity.
🔮The books and music that have carved a hole in your soul and etched their names in your heart.
THOSE are the things that make you, you, and that’s how you would like everyone to see you, right? As a dancing, laughing, powerful, magical being?
It'd be one of the great tragedies of our time if you hid that sparkle.
That’s why I’m SO excited to announce that enrollment is NOW OPEN for The Bold Body Initiative, a 12-week fitness and body image program to help you live in that space, naturally, every single day.
If you’ve been following along, you know that fitness, to me, is about so much more than squats and protein.
It’s not about the reps you’ve completed under the bar, but about the power you felt while doing it.
It’s not about the minutes you spent on the treadmill, but about the sense of accomplishment you derive from setting yourself a challenge you’re unsure you can complete, and crushing it.
It’s not about the meals you’ve white-knuckled your way through to choose dry chicken and soggy broccoli instead of pizza, but about learning to listen to and honor the cravings of your body and being able to move on without guilt, stress, or shame.
Fitness is about your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
It’s about feeling at home in your body, knowing that you have a powerful tool at your disposal, ready to tackle rogue babies crawling all over your floor, a demanding work life stretching your skills, the weekend pickup kickball game with your friends, and anything else in between.
It’s about saying YES to the life you want to live without the nagging thoughts of, “I don’t have anything to wear,” or, “I shouldn’t do that, because I had too many Goldfish yesterday.”
It’s about FINALLY not missing out on 95% of your life in order to weigh 5% less.
Which is why I've developed The Bold Body Initiative, a 12-week fitness and body image group coaching program to help you feel at home in your body — no matter what you're wearing or doing or eating.
You’ll get a 12-week fitness program designed to help you get comfortable in the gym, to learn about yourself, and to find a movement practice with which you can stay consistent (because that’s where we get the physical results we’re after, after all!).
You’ll also get a 12-week mindset program designed to help you dial in and discover WHY your previous efforts to feel good in your body haven’t worked.
You’ll find a sisterhood and a family: you’ll bond with a small group of women working through EXACTLY what you’re struggling with. You’ll find you’re not alone at all, but that you’ve been experiencing issues devised by an industry that doesn’t always have your best interests at heart. You’ll get (and give!) feedback in real time from me and the entire group as you learn, grow, and settle into peace with your body — at last.
Interested?
I’ll be revealing more about the program this week, and I’d love to have you be a part of the very first women to go through this process as a group.
Enrollment is NOW OPEN, and we begin October 9!! I can’t WAIT to get started, and help you uncover what a friendship with your fitness routine and with your body looks like for you.
