How Do We Become Empowered?
The world is a chaotic, messy place, and it's easy to get swept up in the maelstrom. We can all get caught in negative, self-indulgent thought loops without much effort at all, trapping ourselves in the victim narrative and conceding the battle before it's ever been fought.
What if, instead of assuming that the war is long and the battle is hard, we assumed that Benevolence was on our side?
What if we knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that, no matter the circumstances, we retained incalculable power and strength?
What if we remembered that each and every moment contains a choice:
one to play the victim, to give away our agency and be at the mercy of others, to be drained by our circumstances, and to stay stuck;
which stands right alongside the one to step into our role as a warrior, to hold ourselves responsible for our actions and reactions, to know that each moment is designed for our growth, to be compassionate, and to be the light, impenetrable by darkness?
Choosing to stand in our power is one of the most courageous choices we will ever make. It requires constant practice- choosing what is right rather than what is easy, what is aligned with our values rather than what is immediately available in our frustration, what is a level up rather than on the ground floor- over and over again.
We are never exclusively at the mercy of others’ maleficence and our own worst habits.
It's as simple (and as difficult) as a choice. No drama necessary.
When you learn who you are and what you stand for, and, when you find yourself out of alignment, pause. Reflect. Ask where you’re contradicting your goals and your desires for yourself. Ask who your higher self is and take steps toward her, joyfully releasing that which does not serve you, knowing that a bigger, better you is being realized every moment.
